Does a valid checksum prove a GTIN is genuine?
No. This tool checks numeric length and the final check digit only. It does not verify GS1 assignment, ownership, product identity or marketplace approval.
Should I change an invalid GTIN to make it pass?
No. Retrieve the correct assigned identifier from an authoritative product source. Do not invent a new identifier or replace a digit merely to satisfy the check.
Is my identifier sent to a server?
No. The check runs locally in your browser. Optional consented analytics include only the tool name and result category, never the entered identifier.
